Origin: Healthy Weights
- emotional state suffered by dieters
- hopelessness, despair, self-doubt
Believe it or not, I know the reason why you binge eat. In fact, I know why and so does the limited number of experts in the field of binge, emotional and compulsive eating. The reason is actually quite simple and it makes sense.
Binging temporarily distracts, soothes, calms emotions and relieves stress.
Of course the key word in the previous sentence is temporarily. I encourage you to stop beating yourself up for binging and forgive yourself for behavior that in the short term makes logical sense. This will give you the courage and determination to find alternatives to binge eating.
Remember, the ultimate goal is to reduce the severity and frequency of binges. This means that a single binge is not a failure. In fact it might be part of a very important learning experience.

I stopped bingeing by not
I stopped bingeing by not letting it work anymore. If I really had to eat, I'd eat fruit until I was full. I wouldn't let myself beat myself up for stuffing myself. I tried to take the emotions out of it, and stay present, and it just started to seem silly.
Eating fruit until you are
Eating fruit until you are full is not exactly the best option for many people depending on their metabolic type. Also as too much fruit can also lead to weight gain due to the high fructose (sugar).
