Origin: Healthy Weights
- emotional state suffered by dieters
- hopelessness, despair, self-doubt
Expanding your interpretation of what you consider 'success' can keep you active, eating well and most importantly feeling good about your progress... even on a less than perfect day.
Do you have a solid plan B? Rachel, after joining the Healthy Weights Clinic does...
Rachel,
I must admit, I'm pretty proud of myself. I implemented my Plan B yesterday. I didn't go to the gym at 6am, but I did go walking right after work. I went home, changed, got the dog & headed out. Then when I did get home, I made myself a healthy supper. Rather than beat myself up all day for missing my workout, I agreed that a walk after work was just as good. This is a major change in thinking for me.
I am determined to get over my engrained idea that exercise is for weight loss only. As you suggested, If I continue to look at it that way then I will fall into the trap that suggests that once I lose weight, I won't need to exercise anymore.
After all, deep down I do I want to be an EXERCISER.
Do you have a plan B that you'd like to share? If so I'd like to hear about it below.

I LOVE this! You hit the nail
I LOVE this! You hit the nail on the head. So what if you didn't go to the gym...the point is to move more right? So move some other way...so long as you move. Same thing with diet. You over did it today? Under do it tomorrow! Thinking with this "Plan B" approach shelves the self-defeating behavior and allows you some flexibility in how you achieve better health. Being perfect is boring!
It's always best to think
It's always best to think ahead so when something unexpected happens there's a way out. People who are able to do so are the best type of employees, husbands, wives, parents and so on.
